Marissa Soto Collaborates on Amicus Brief to the United States Supreme Court on the Puerto Rican Debt Crisis

On January 25, 2016, I had the professional honor of having a brief that I participated in drafting submitted to the United States Supreme Court.  I am proud to announce that I was a member of the team that submitted an amicus curiae brief to address whether the Puerto Rico Recovery Act is preempted by the Bankruptcy Code.   While such an issue may seem obscure and esoteric, it is in fact a key question when addressing the Puerto Rican debt crisis.  I invite all visitors to read the brief and consider the issue of Puerto Rico’s debt crisis and the people impacted by it.
